Internews is seeking a Radio Journalism Adviser

Internews is a non-profit organization that works to improve access to information for people around the world by fostering independent media and promoting open communications policies in the public interest. Internews is seeking a Radio Journalism Adviser to set up and lead a project that will establish a Humanitarian Information Radio Service for Somali refugees and local people in Dadaab, North East Kenya.



In addition to overall project management, budget management and supervision of staff, the position will involve training up a team of refugees to become community radio reporters in the Dadaab camps, plus providing training for reporters at the existing community radio station in Garissa. The level of training will range from instilling basic journalistic roles, responsibilities, ethics and reporting skills to teaching more advanced program making and coverage of specialized areas such as health, humanitarian rights and gender awareness.
