Sputnik award

Since 2007 is the anniversary year for the launch of the First satellite Almaty Radio-amateur League together with Almaty District Sports & Technical Club “OTAN” have constituted “Sputnik” award program.
Award conditions

"Sputnik Award" is issued to all ham radio operators who meet the program conditions. The award is issued free of charge for making 2-way radio contacts (or SWL) with memorial amateur radio stations of Almaty and Almaty region.

One has to get 30 points to be eligible to receive the award for QSOs on HF and 20 points for QSOs on VHF/UHF. Each QSO with the following Ham stations gives 10 points. QSO with U7GL gives 20 points on HF. Any QSOs or SWLs since July 1st, 2007 are valid regardless of mode or band. The list of memorial stations include:

U7GL, UQ0GL, UQ7GS, UQ7QD, UQ7GK, UQ8GC, UQ7GN, UQ8GU, UQ7GWI, UQ7GFJ, UQ7GLE, UQ7GZ, UQ7QN
