For direct via postcard, US stations send one US stamp; international send $1 USD or 1 IRC. For direct via envelope, US stations send $1; international send $2 USD or 1 IRC. Don't send him an envelope. The card is large, 4" x 5.25", so it won't fit in a standard envelope.
