FW0R Wallis and Futuna Islands
"Hi, exactly one month from now, the FW0R team will start its journey to Wallis and Futuna Islands, with the first stop in Los Angeles for 2 days before taking an airplane to Nadi (Fiji), the closest international airport to Wallis. From there, we will fly to Wallis and expect to start TX around 25th of January 2012. We would like to remind You that the entire trip and stay on the island is paid in full by each of the operators and that any contribution/support will help us to reduce the high logistical costs. IRESC Turkiye / International Radio Emergency Support Coalition will be hosting a seminar and symposium at Fatih University on December 24 and 25.The first day between 11.30 and 14.00. The subject of the seminars is 'Practical Training in Emergency Communications."
1. On day one of the symposium, between 11.30 and 14.00, there will be practical training over emergency communications.
2. Emergency support communications exercises and processes training course, specifically over nuclear and chemical emergency situtations.
3. A 48 hour communication exercise under the TC1ACAT callsign. There will be a special course for the EMCOMM
