Matt Amato at Analytical Graphics has created a network link that converts USSTRATCOM data (active and inactive satellites, debris and rocket bodies) into a KMZ network link for observation in Google Earth. By grabbing the KMZ, you can not only view all objects tracked in real-time, but you can also click on them to get more information on the specific satellite, including viewing its orbit trajectory. It's an excellent educational tool for the space-curious
North Eastern Japan was hit by a huge earthquake and Tsunami on March 11th, 2011. For assisting disaster relief operation, JARL is operating its HQ station JA1RL with cooperating stations for communications with suffered area. The operation is mainly at 7.030 MHz during 0600-2000JST (2100-1100UTC) daily. We would like to ask all radio amateurs to avoid transmission around 7.030 MHz until further notice for keeping that frequency clear from QRM.
lightRadio has at its core an innovation that is a small cube—a cube invented by Bell Labs which combines a wideband active array antenna with fully software defined radio capability.
