T32 Southern Line Islands DXped
Announcing the IOTA dxpedition to the Southern Line Islands
An international dxpedition to the following islands will commence late March:
OC-279 Malden Island
OC-280 Starbuck Island
OC-281 Caroline Island
OC-282 Vostok Island
These are all uninhabited islands and are new IOTAs, never before activated. We are planning to be active on each island for 4 days. QSL direct via SM6CAS. We sail on the S/V Kwai from Kiritimati (Christmas) Island on 17 March. The team comprises Nils-SM6CAS (leader), Steve-G4EDG, Mike-K9AJ and Derek-G3KHZ. We will be taking 5 Kiribati Government officials with us. The sea journey will be almost 1,800 nautical miles and we will return to Kiritimati on 20 April. Special thanks to Kimo, KH7U for his immense help and tireless effort obtaining equipment for us and getting it to the S/V Kwai while in harbour at Honolulu.
